Göcek Superyacht Show Türkiye will bring together local and foreign sea enthusiasts on May 8-12. The event will be the meeting point for Turkey’s superyachts and maritime professionals.

The Gocek Superyacht Show Türkiye will host both local and foreign sea enthusiasts and professionals between May 8th and 12th. Super yachts, motor yachts and sailboats produced in Turkey will meet with business and professional sea world people.
Volkan Demirkuşak from Dünya wrote an article about the event titled “Superyacht Summit in Göcek”. Demirkuşak’s full article is as follows:
Göcek, Muğla. Turkish sailing is one of the most important points in maritime culture. With its super yacht marinas, delightful bays, and beautiful restaurants, Göcek is a focal point for domestic and foreign sea tourists every year. Unfortunately, it is getting more crowded and busier each year, and a bit dirtier. More boats, more sailboats, and just as many tourists. However, nothing can hinder the beauty of Göcek’s bays. Additionally, Göcek continues to be a holiday destination for billionaires with the world’s largest super yachts. It is not surprising to see a yacht measuring 100 to 150 meters in the bays. This year, Göcek will host a brand new show. From May 8 to 12, the Göcek Superyacht Show will welcome both local and foreign sea enthusiasts and professionals. Super yachts, motor yachts, and sailboats produced in Turkey will meet with people from the professional maritime world. The event, organized in collaboration with Göcek Marina and Skopea Marina, will address important topics such as promoting Turkish yachting, strengthening women’s roles in the industry, sharing sectoral knowledge, and developing Turkey’s yacht tourism. Additionally, this show aims to enhance Turkey’s position in the maritime route. Environmental friendliness and sustainable practices will also be significant points of the show.
GHOST NETS IN THE SEAS
Deep blue sea, green nature, how cliché is that? So what did the mucilage that has been talked about recently remind us? That there is a world living under the sea as much as the beautiful face of the sea and that we continue to pollute it, and never stop. Wild hunting, lack of awareness of nature, failure to protect the environment, and failure to separate waste are like a dagger stuck in the soul of the deep blue sea. But does it ever end with these? One of the social responsibility projects that I liked recently was carried out by CarrefourSA with ghost nets. Sustainable fishing and renewable population are the most basic elements in the renewal of the fish population. In order for aquaculture resources to be sustainable, fishing activities must be carried out consciously, protected and planned for the future. Sabancı Holding and Carrefour Group subsidiary, CarrefourSA, the leading brand of the Turkish retail sector, aims to contribute to the underwater ecosystem with the support it provides for the continuation of our seas and fishing with the statement “The truth”.
CarrefourSA, which fully complies with the aquaculture legislation and keeps 80 types of fish on its shelves in season by complying with the hunting and size bans, takes into account the sustainable fishing criteria in its suppliers as well as awareness studies for the continuity of the underwater ecosystem.
CarrefourSA contributes significantly to sea cleanliness with the technology it uses in the production of reliable and clean stuffed mussels in the first and only integrated mussel facility of Turkey located in Ocaklar Village of Erdek district of Balıkesir. In the social responsibility project created to draw attention to the pollution caused by the nets getting stuck or torn and remaining in the water during fishing activities, attention is drawn to the protection of coastal fishing with ghost nets. The central goal of the Ocaklar Village ghost net project is to keep the seas clean. In a way, attention is drawn to how dirty and uncontrolled life under the sea actually is. In addition, amateur fishermen engaged in coastal fishing are also given training.
4 SEASONS CRUISE – FINNISH SARGO 28
Istanbul is currently showing us its sunny face, while just a few weeks ago, snow had welcomed this city. For about ten years, as an amateur sailor and professional television producer, I’ve had the chance to test, watch, and observe many moving vessels on the sea. However, I had never made a voyage from Kalamış in Istanbul, enjoying the beauties of the Bosphorus on a snowy day until now. This week’s article is about that experience. I set sail with the Sargo 28, a mini motor yacht from the Finnish brand Sargo, which can be used in all four seasons. The suggestion from Umut Güler, the brand’s distributor and representative in Turkey, to “sail in the snow” sounded so enjoyable and appealing that I found myself on the boat without worrying much about the 0°C temperature. Of course, the Scandinavians have a completely different mindset in maritime production. They offer a wide variety of brands and alternatives, ranging from electric boats to all-season functional boats, mini motor yachts, and even larger motor yachts. Sargo is one such brand. While testing the nine-meter 28 series of the model family, we understood the freedom of being able to use a boat in every season. While we see snow only 2.03 days a year in Istanbul, we had the chance to experience, at least for one day, what the cold seas and challenging conditions of Finland are like. The craftsmanship in the interior, near-perfect details, functionality, mobility solutions, and practical use are the fundamental features of such boats. With a price of approximately 285,000 Euros, the Sargo 28 greets those who want to be on the water in every season.
